I recently bought some great resources from Macmillan. One set of 6 was called "I came to Australia for..." (freedom, lifestyle, employment, family etc.) all personal accounts of children's journeys to Australia for different reasons and how they have settled in here.

Another good one is also Macmillan "Australians All"

Also Macmillan "Australia's immigrants" particularly the ones called;
Free settlers (1891-1939)
Migrants and refugees (1976-1999)
Post war Europeans (1940-1975)

<http://www.edna.edu.au/discover/index.html?queryText=multiculturalism+Australia>

Macmillan put out a series on Australian immigrants. there are also 2 older series that we have: Australian Families (Methuen-1984) & People in Australia by Michael Dugan.

Try the Macmillan series "Australians all" by Al Grassby and Marj Hill. Sees covers 8 different cultural groups - English, German, Spanish, Chinese, Irish, Italian, Greek, Lebanese.
