This resource provides teachers and other educational stakeholders with a range of ideas and practices for teaching and learning about citizenship within today's global context. It is intended that this resource will be helpful to those who are 'critically' considering ways in which global perspectives might be infused into our classes and school-wide programs. The ideas and practices were investigated, developed, and piloted by practicing teachers and teacher educators in school settings
New e-democracy Initiatives and Materials

Interested in citizenship education? The Queensland Government has developed
three new initiatives for citizens to get involved in government
decision-making via the Internet. People can sign or start a petition online,
listen to Parliament live online and also comment on consultation issues that
are important to them. These initiatives are part of the Queensland
Government's e-democracy agenda which is about exploring the potential of the
Internet for strengthening participative democracy as a key part of the vision
of Queensland as the Smart State. A brochure explaining the initiatives and a
postcard to encourage contact with government is available from the Department
of Premier and Cabinet. School teachers can request multiple copies by
contacting: info@getinvolved.qld.gov.au.
