What, exactly, is voice
There is another meaning to the word voice, beyond the sounds that you make when you speak.
It is an opinion, an attitude.
My dictionary gives the example of “a dissenting voice”.
As a speaker, a marketer, a leader, your voice, then, is your attitude, your opinion, the way you present those things, the way you present your message.
But what if we saw voice as just an authentic, natural expression of your opinion, your passion, your message, your feeling of connection with your audience;
an authentic, natural expression of the thing that you need to get out into the world,
the thing that you want your audience to hear and know and understand and act on?
Join me to find and define your voice
You need that voice to be strong, to be powerful ...
not to dominate, not to manipulate ...
but to connect, to make your message absolutely clear,
to transmit your passion, your offer, maybe your need, want, desire for change,
for something better for your audience, your clients ... yourself and the world you live in.
You need that voice to be real ... so that it reflects you, the real you and the real story of who you are and what you are about,
not some contrived presentation, not some manipulative sleaze,
and not some fearful whisper.
That's not to say it has to be perfectly presented, perfectly modulated.
Let it be gritty, let your words be experimental.
Invite your audience, your readers, your clients, your team be part of it,
because once you have defined your voice, it cannot be dimmed by your efforts to learn.
It is confident in itself, its telling of your story, communicating your identity, your message.
And when you have found your voice,
it is reflected in the way you speak and your presence,
your ability to engage your audience,
attract clients,
lead your team
and get results.
