It’s almost here …

And as you look forward to the new year, I wish you the courage and the joy to make 2008 your personal best.

To help you “make it great in 0-eight”, I have put together some articles, ideas, links and gifts at a Happy New Year Page. Enjoy!

If you think you are beaten you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in the state of mind.

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

"No task is so humble that it does not offer an outlet for individuality."

-William Feather

And there is no doubt that that applies just so well to public speaking. it is our chance to put our own individual stamp on the presentation - whether it be a short toast or a keynote to a roomfull of people. I see public speaking as a fantastic creative outlet. And, of course, a chance to build your image. Thanks, William Feather

"Goals provide the energy source that powers our lives. One of the best ways we can get the most from the energy we have is to focus it. That is what goals can do for us; concentrate our energy."
