The terrorist attacks in London on 7 July 2005 prompted the Australian
Government and all the jurisdictions to ask the question of how they would
manage a similar event should it occur in Australia.  On 23 February 2006,
St John Ambulance Australia and Emergency Management Australia co-hosted a workshop in Canberra on the lessons from the disaster.  This is the report
compiled from the workshop. (2802 KB PDF)
Site contains images from the terrorist attack, as well as summaries of
what worked well during the attack, and summaries of what aspects of emergency services response can be improved and how.

Protecting Australia Against Terrorism 2006 http://www.pmc.gov.au/publications/protecting_australia_2006/index.cfm The publication Protecting Australia Against Terrorism 2006 updates and builds on the 2004 edition of Protecting Australia Against Terrorism to provide a comprehensive overview of Australia's domestic and international counter-terrorism strategy, policy and arrangements. It: . explains the steps the Australian Government has taken to protect Australians and Australian interests against the threat of terrorism . outlines the government's partnership with state, territory and local governments as well as the private sector in developing the nation-wide counter-terrorism capability.
Protecting Australia Against Terrorism 2006 comprises two parts. Part I
describes Australia's national counter-terrorism strategy. It can be read
by itself to gain a broad understanding of the strategy or in conjunction with
Part II, which provides greater functional details about Australia's national counter terrorism capabilities.
